I have lived in the countryside most of my life and feel the happiest in my childhood home. While I studied in Tartu, I began filling my room with houseplant. In 10 years I have now about a hundred of them. Plants are the first thing I notice when I enter a new space.
I have inherited interest in gardening, handicrafts and baking from my mom. Every year I try to grow my own vegetables and tend to the garden. I'm not afraid of mendind, sewing or making for myself and others. I'm not perfect but always thinking of the environment.
In the kitchen I try to find clever ways to use seasonal produce. Most often I bake sweet things that go well with coffee or tea. vegetarian beetroot pizza on a warm summer eve with the best people? Yes, please!
In the past four years I have become more interested in floral art and room decorations. Working in a plant store gave me a foundation that I have been using to find my own style. Currently I tend to lean into wild, airy and movement. Since I also wish it to be local and seasonal, I have been growing some flowers myself and plan to upscale bit by bit.
Taimekohvik is a place where all these interest meet and partially melt into each other. Here meet plants, flowers, food, DIY, creativity and a wish to use existing materials for as long as possible. Here I don't have to know how to do everything and always be perfect at it. Sometimes I just have to try.
